Volunteers helping as “Podcaptains” will be our point of contact for the players in a specific group or groups. You don’t need to be a Pickleball Player to be a podcaptain – you just need to be able to work with a group and help keep them organized!
The Pod Captain’s Goal is to keep player’s safe, start play on time, keep play moving, and assist with instructions. You may also need to assist with scoring for DreamBreaker play if you know how to do it, otherwise a TD will help.
You will be in charge of 2 or 4 courts, depending on the number of volunteers.
You will have a clipboard for the courts that tells you which teams are playing and will primarily be filled out by the teams with your assistance. (Team names, which players are playing, and final score/winner. ) You will ensure that the form is filled out with clear winners and names – you will bring it to the TD.
If teams have questions or need assistance, you are the “point person” and if you don’t know an answer, you will just ask the TD.
